About Howard F. Weiner

In April 2022, Howard published two new books, COVID Blues, a novel about almost famous musicians pursuing their muse during a global pandemic, and Europe ‘72 Revisited: 50th Celebration of the Grateful Dead’s Legendary Tour. Howard’s other studies focusing on the music of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead include, Deadology: The 33 Essential Dates of Grateful Dead History, Dedaology Volume II: The Evolution of 33 Grateful Dead Jam Anthems, Grateful Dead 1977: The Rise of Terrapin Nation, and Positively Garcia: Reflections of the JGB.


Combining expertise on his passions, Howard published Dylan and the Grateful Dead: A Tale of Twisted of Fate in 2017, and Tangled Up in Tunes: Ballad of a Dylanhead in 2012. Dylan and the Grateful Dead chronicles how these legendary musicians influenced each other through the years. Tangled Up in Tunes is the author’s memoir focusing on his three decades of following the Grateful Dead, and then, Bob Dylan’s Never Ending Tour.

Howard created and hosted Visions of Dylan, a series of two-hour programs that aired on this 99.5 FM, WBAI, and he received an MFA Degree in Creative Writing from The New School. These days, Howard writes and resides in New Paltz, New York.
